Discreet Aligners. Amazing Results!
For decades, the only way to address crooked, gapped, and otherwise misaligned teeth was to wear traditional braces. Although effective, the metal brackets and wires left much to be desired in the looks department. The good news is that there is now an equally as reliable but considerably more discreet option: Invisalign clear aligners. If you want to learn more about this orthodontic treatment, keep reading or get in touch with our Boston dental team to schedule a consultation!

How Invisalign Works
To move your teeth from where they are now to their properly aligned positions, our team at Turning Leaf Dental will create a custom series of clear aligners. If your case of malocclusion is minor, then you may only have a handful of trays. If your case is more severe, however, then you may have 25 or more. Regardless, you’ll be instructed to wear each set of aligners for 20-22 hours a day, switching to a new pair every 7-14 days. Once you’ve worked through the entire series and you’re happy with the results, we will provide you with a retainer to prevent orthodontic relapse.
Indications for Invisalign
Over the last 20+ years, Invisalign has helped patients with all sorts of orthodontic issues – from overcrowded teeth to uneven bites. To learn more about how clear aligner treatment can help, read on!
Crowded Teeth
If your teeth are overcrowded to the point where they overlap, then your toothbrush and floss aren’t as effective at removing plaque, food particles, and other debris. Fortunately, Invisalign can move your teeth into their properly aligned positions, improving your confidence and your oral health.
Gaps Between Teeth
Spaced-out teeth pose a similar problem because debris can get caught between your teeth and gumline, increasing your risk of developing gum disease. Again, the clear aligners can gently guide your teeth to their ideal positions – all without the metal brackets and noticeable wires!
Bite Alignment
Overbites, underbites, crossbites, and open bites can result in premature wear, speech issues, abnormal chewing patterns, and jaw pain. Fortunately, orthodontic accessories, like rubber bands, can be added to your Invisalign treatment plan so that the final result is aligned teeth and an aligned bite.
The Benefits of Invisalign
More than 12 million patients have chosen Invisalign because:
- The aligners are see-through, making them virtually undetectable
- There aren’t any dietary restrictions
- You don’t need to buy any special oral hygiene tools
- The average treatment timeline is 12-18 months
- There are fewer check-in appointments
How Much Does Invisalign Cost?
The cost of your Invisalign treatment will depend on a few key factors, including the complexity of your case, how many aligners are needed, and if rubber bands or any other orthodontic accessories need to be included. That’s why we can’t give you an accurate estimate of the cost until your consultation! The good news is that – in addition to providing you with a number – we can review all of the financial solutions available, like dental insurance and financing. That way, you know exactly how much it costs and what you can do to make the price fit into your budget.
Factors That Can Influence Invisalign Cost
There are multiple unique details to your individual treatment that can influence the cost of Invisalign. At your initial consultation, Dr. Daliah Salem will walk you through what these are, and our front desk staff will provide you with a detailed cost estimate before you agree to move forward with the service. Some of these cost-affecting factors include:
- How many aligners you need will depend on the severity of your orthodontic problems. For example, fixing slight misalignment will take fewer aligners than addressing bite problems.
- Whether you need both arches straightened, as this will also play into how many aligners you’ll require throughout your treatment.
- Treatment diligence will also determine how long the process lasts, which can affect the cost. You’ll need to wear your trays for 20 to 22 hours a day, and if you ever break or lose one, immediately call us so we can send for a replacement.
- Additional accessories may be required to address certain orthodontic problems, like elastics to straighten out bite misalignment.
Weighing the Cost of Invisalign vs. Mail-In Aligners
Today, you have countless places where you can get clear aligners, so how do you determine which one will provide you with ideal results at the perfect price point? Although mail-in aligners may cost less up-front, they don’t provide the professional oversight that your dentist in Boston will. This can lead to a higher risk of complications throughout your treatment. With Invisalign from Turning Leaf Dental, you’ll be able to trust that our competent and knowledgeable team will be with you along every step of the way so you can enjoy the best results.
Does Dental Insurance Cover Invisalign?
While some dental insurance plans may not cover Invisalign, others may cover a portion of the cost of treatment. This depends on your individual benefits assignment. Our team can help you determine how much they will cover and even file claims on your behalf to help maximize your savings. We’re proudly in-network with Delta, BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, and other PPO dental insurances and are happy to work with you to navigate your coverage.
Making Invisalign More Affordable
In addition to accepting dental insurance, we also work with Wisetack Dental Financing to give you an additional, flexible payment option. Upon qualifying for coverage, you’ll be able to split the price of your Invisalign treatment into smaller monthly payments at little-to-no interest, depending on the length of the payment plan you choose.
